Newness: Baby Scan Artwork
I have been wanting to create baby scan artwork for quite some time. After living with my prints day n day out, I wanted to use my method of creating artwork to do something else that would be a great gift to buy for special events. I also wanted to use the method to have a bit more fun and engage with people in a different way. Looking at my work, I always felt they sort of looked like the type of marking you see in people’s baby scans… I just couldn’t get the idea out of my head. Finally, I’ve decided to start making them, over on my Etsy page here!
A friend from school has allowed me to use her as a guinea pig for this so these prints are of her son. First, we decided on a colour theme, she wanted shades of blue to suit his room, and just to stay in sort of a “classic” boy theme. I created a few swatches over on my Instagram Stories and decided on a colour theme to suit.
The paintwork is my favourite textured paint, layered with deep blues, sea blues and a little neutral yellow. Not only does it give that classic “baby boy” look to the print, but also adds a seaside freshness, allowing you to display the art in any room. I think they are great gifts as they are personal and about a baby but could be hung anywhere and don’t scream “maternity”. Hopefully, you’ll feel the same too!
I would love to make one of these for a little girl soon as I have so many pink shades to use up! If you’re interested in ordering one, either visit my Etsy shop or send me a message here. Hope you like them, if you know anybody who is having a baby or would like them too, please share this post!
Thank you x
